Large Painting 2

Now that our exhibition has gone up I am going to the progress of how each piece was made and the finished result for each piece.

We stopped here on this piece as we weren't really happy with how it was going. When revisiting it we took on board the advice we were given from our tutor to be less careful and precise. He also suggested rather than trying to mimic the overall movement of the image, we should pick up on individual movements and replicate them around the piece.

Our approach now was to for every mark we made on the body to replicate it somewhere else on the piece, while also working quicker with less care. We feel it has a lot better effect now.

I think this is my favourite painting of all as really captures the movement, still resembles the body but only enough to hint at it. And there is also lots of different areas to consider and be drawn to, not just seen as one piece as a whole.
